FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring soft shin tissue image area ratio before and after cross-clamping superficial veins with compression cuff with the results fixed on display unit. The soft shin tissue image area after cross-clamping superficial veins being greater than that before cross-clamping more than by 15%, deep shin vein thrombosis is considered to be diagnosed. The device has image transducer, unit for selecting frame and line drive, oscillator and the first AND-gate, comparator, the second AND-gate, the third AND-gate, the first trigger, the second trigger, delay unit, OR-gate, the fourth AND-gate, the third trigger, the fourth trigger, the fifth AND-gate, the sixth AND-gate, counter, microprocessor and display unit. Area ratio is calculated by sequentially calculating object images areas and determining area ratios by means of microprocessor.

EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis; reduced device production costs.
