METHOD OF PREPARATION OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE-CONTAINING OIL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: preparation of oil for transportation; oil-and-gas producing industry; preparation of sulfur-bearing crude oils and gas condensates at high content of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes multi-stage separation at 30-65°C and reduced pressure (preferably at residual pressure)in final-stage separator of 0.05-0.07 MPa at simultaneous removal of hydrogen sulfide till 55-85-% degree followed by final cleaning from residual hydrogen sulfide by introducing effective amount of aqueous alkaline solution of sodium nitrite or sodium pyrosulfite or hydrosulfite or hydroxylamine sulfate or aqueous solution of sodium sulfite and hydrosulfite, preferably containing sulfite and hydrosulfite at mole ratio of 1 : (0.3-0.9) at temperature of 15-65°C for at least 0.5 h. For preparation of oil containing hydrogen sulfite and mercaptans, 20- 40-% aqueous alkaline solution of sodium nitrite at pH not below 11 is introduced. For preparation of heavy oil at anomalous high content of hydrogen sulfide, hydrocarbon gas from first stage of separation or low-sulfurous gas or natural gas shall be introduced in oil prior to separation at reduced pressure.

EFFECT: reduction of residual amount of hydrogen sulfide and light mercaptans in stock-tank oil to level of modern requirements at retained high show.
