FIELD: railway transport; automatic couplers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed centering device of automatic coupler contains housing 3 connected with vehicle frame by swinging suspensions 2, support plate 4 resting on compression springs 5 and arranged with its ends in vertical side slots 9 of housing 3, and support plate displacement limiters 7. Ends of support plate are made in form of teeth 8. Horizontal guides 12 communicating with vertical side slots 9 are made in housing. Said guides 12 accommodate locking elements 13 spring-loaded relative to housing and installed symmetrically relative to vertical axis of device. Teeth 14 of said elements are arranged in slots of housing and they engage with teeth of support plate when the latter is lowered. Each locking element is connected by rods 17 with ends of shackle 18 engaging with cam 20. Lever 23 is rigidly secured on axle 21 of cam installed in holes of housing. Lever 23 is hinge-coupled by tie-rod 24 with opposite lever 25 installed on axle of other cam.

EFFECT: prevention of wear of centering device and shank of automatic coupler.
