FIELD: electrolytic application of coats on rectifying metals and their alloys, mainly on aluminum and titanium.

SUBSTANCE: plasma oxidation of rectifying metals and their alloys is used for protection of articles against atmospheric corrosion under adverse climatic conditions and obtaining proper decorative image of articles. Proposed method includes treatment in aqueous electrolyte containing trisodium phosphate 12-aqueous in the amount of 20-120 g/l; sodium tetraborate 10-aqueous in the amount of 10-80 g/l; sodium tungstate 2-aqueous in the amount of 1-2 g/l at varying anode-cathode polarization and pulse duration of 0.0033-0.1 and effective density of current of 0.01-0.3 A/cm2.

EFFECT: reduced power requirements; enhanced corrosion resistance of coats.
