METHOD FOR PREDICTING LIFE DURATION IN PATIENTS WITH SEROUS AND ENDOMETRIOID OVARIAN CARCINOMA Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

SUBSTANCE: one should evaluate morphological tumor parameter - the quantity of intra- and extra-cellular mucus at histological mucicarmine-stained sections of 5 mcm thickness. Moreover, at presence of intra-cellular mucus in up to 50% tumor cells with no extra-cellular mucus one should predict life duration being >2.4 year. In case of intra-cellular mucus in 51-100% cells and extra-cellular mucus in up to 50% against the volume of tumor tissue one should predict life duration being >2.9 year. In case of intra-cellular mucus in 100% cancer cells and extra-cellular mucus in 51-100% against the volume of tumor tissue one should conclude favorably upon life duration of >5 years. In case of no intra-and extra-cellular mucus it is impossible to state favorably upon life duration. The method is very simple, it enables to predict at insufficient amount of parameters under detection.
