SUBSTANCE: method involves transferring fertilizer from storehouse into vehicle and transporting to fertilizer application areas; transferring fertilizer from vehicle into fertilizer applying machines equipped with bodies and transporting by means of conveyors for further spreading over field; before driving fertilizer applying machines to field, putting extensions onto wheels thereof, said extensions having size twice the width of wheels; preliminarily setting actual capacity of conveyors; measuring density of fertilizer; providing rotation strips near the field; measuring actual volume of body of fertilizer applying machine; determining speed of said machine, its width and number of passes from formulas: S=[C(L_t-S_r)/V_b.d_f](1-K_s), W_d=V_b.d_f/[R_p(L_t-S_r)], N_p=W_t/W_d, where S is speed of fertilizer applying machine, m/s; C is consumption of fertilizer from body, kg/s; L_t is total length of field, m; S_r is size of rotation strips, m; V_b is volume of body, m³; d_f is density of fertilizer, kg/m³; K_s is slippage coefficient; W_d is designed width of machine, m; R_p is predetermined rate of applying fertilizer, kg/hectare; N_p is number of passages by said machine; W_t is total width of field, m; depending on resultant even or odd number of passages, positioning loading equipment at one or two edges of field.

EFFECT: increased precision in calculating of desirable amounts of fertilizer, improved protection of field from destruction and increased efficiency.
