FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decorative protective cover plates designed for protection of edge of door or other like part of automobiles. Proposed removable cover plate 10 is made of polymeric material and is designed for fitted on automobile door provided with molding. Cover plate has U-shaped cross section shock-absorbing section 12 covering door molding and projecting beyond the edge of door in longitudinal direction, and two flat sections 14 adjoining the shock absorbing section and provided with means for fastening of cover plate to edge of automobile door with possibility of removing.

EFFECT: provision of convenience in use owing to possibility of quick mounting and demounting without opening door of automobile with edge of door remaining intact.
