SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective shim 3 and its application for protecting vehicle door. Protective shim may protect surfaces, including element extending from said surfaces as well as edges of surface adjoining said shim. Said shim comprises only one adhesive part extends beyond said part in, at least, two directions parallel therewith the shim and not opposed. Thus, protective shim may be used for protection of vehicle door 2 comprising side strip 5 and door edges.
EFFECT: simplified fitting in place.
