FIELD: protection devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to system for protecting edges of transported goods and consists of at least one elastic layer and at least one reinforcing layer. Protective packaging for protection of window panes or other flat-shaped items from damage during transport, loading or unloading or warehousing includes: edge protection, made with possibility of closing edges along window glass perimeter or other flat-shaped object; said edge protection comprising elastic material and reinforcing material disposed within said elastic material; claimed resilient material comprises foam; claimed reinforcing material comprises elongated wood elements; claimed resilient material is divided into separate regions; at each of such portions of the resilient material, opening is formed for putting said portions of elastic material onto one of elongated wood elements mentioned or for introducing one of claimed elongated wood elements into clammed portions of elastic material after mounting edge protection on window pane or other flat-shaped object; on each of claimed portions of resilient material, recess is provided for accommodating therein edge portion of window glass or other flat-shaped object, after mounting of such edge protection on window pane or other flat-shaped object; and on portions of resilient material, side members are provided for closing side edges of window glass or other flat-shaped object, and corner elements, intended to cover corner edges of window glass or other flat-shaped object.

EFFECT: device to protect edges of the transported goods is proposed.
