SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for removing and installing heat exchanger units. According to invention, carrying frame of device has detachable connections for mounting on hydraulic cylinders for removal with possibility of disconnection and transportation by load-lifting mechanism. Each hydraulic cylinder is controlled independently for tilting and leveling the carrying frame to compensate for inclination on support surface and displacement of center of gravity of heat exchanger unit. Device contains two tracks connected to main frame for its movement. Method uses said device containing main and carrying frame and pair of tracks connected to main frame for its movement. Carrying frame is lifted to height of heart exchanger unit and said unit is pulled from place of operation onto carrying frame provided with extension for this purpose. When pulling on heat exchanger unit, runners are used mounted for displacement on carrying frame.
EFFECT: improved stability of device at pulling out of heat exchanger unit, possibility of changing location of heat exchanger unit.
