FIELD: packing means, particularly lids adapted to seal rigid containers.

SUBSTANCE: lid comprises sealing part formed as a single whole. The sealing part is installed and retained in depression for air-tight lid installation. The lid also comprises upper rim and two handles arranged at least around part of upper rim. The handles have ends permanently secured in angularly spaced points. The handles may be shifted in central areas by bending end parts thereof connected to sealing part in centers through frangible means from inoperative position in which the handles are coplanar with upper rim and in which the handles are held up to the first lid opening to operative, raised, position after frangible means breaking.

EFFECT: increased lid air-tightness during repeated can sealing, improved tamper evidence.
