FIELD: glass sheet moving and positioning method and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method involves moving and portioning glass sheet or strip cut from glass sheet during cutting of glass sheets in glass sheet cutting apparatus comprising at least one glass cutting zone and at least one supporting surface provided at each side of cutting zone for cutting glass sheets, which are adapted for cutting, or for strips cut from glass sheet and produced after cutting of glass sheets; providing sliding of glass sheet or strip cut from glass sheet to position defined by contact edge extending perpendicular to cutting zone, over supporting surface inclined downward relative to horizontal plane toward said contact edges; detecting presence of glass sheet or strip zone contacting with said contact edge; moving detected glass sheet or strip to cutting zone; providing cutting operation after each glass sheet feeding step, said glass sheet and strip being engaged with conveyor belts by means of pressure device in direction perpendicular to operating direction of cutting zone.

EFFECT: simplified and high-speed movement and positioning of glass sheets.
