METHOD FOR PREDICTING ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION VARIANT IN ELDERLY AND SENILE PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

SUBSTANCE: in elderly and senile patients from the risk group one should detect the values for endothelium-dependent vasodilation (EDVD)calculated as the difference of the diameter of brachial artery in case of reactive hyperemia and at rest referred to its diameter at rest. The value of endothelium-independent vasodilation (EIVD) should be calculated similarly at the background of nitroglycerin intake. Then one should detect the level of endothelin-1 (ET-1). So, according to the values of ET-1, EDVD and EIVD it is possible to predict the development of systolo-diastolic or isolated arterial hypertension. The innovation enables to increase accuracy in predicting different forms of arterial hypertension.
