FIELD: woodworking industry, particularly wood-turning machines.
SUBSTANCE: method involves rotating the billet around longitudinal axis thereof; removing rough and finishing stock by tool rotating about its own axis, for instance by circular saw blade along with displacing the tool along axis parallel to billet axis; dividing the rough stock in several parts by performing successive cut operations in wooden billet with step-by-step tool movement along with taking the tool out of wood, wherein after each rough stock cut operation the tool is successively displaced and rough stock cutting is carried out during unidirectional tool movement; breaking off discs remaining after rough works performing during tool movement in reverse direction along with removing finishing stock. Tool axis may be rotated through an angle relative billet axis, wherein the angle corresponds to that of tool movement trajectory inclination relative billet axis during rough stock dividing operation.
EFFECT: reduced power inputs, increased productivity and decreased cutting force.
