FIELD: metal cutting, working crank shafts of diesel engines and piston compressors. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working cylindrical surfaces of journals of crank shafts by disc milling cutter with peripheral teeth; making on each tooth cutting edge inclined relative to cutting edge of adjacent tooth; working surfaces of journals at cutting rate determined according to revolution number of part; in order to increase accuracy and to lower roughness degree of worked surface due to creation of optimal cutting mode, placing each cutting edge of milling cutter tooth arranged in periphery higher than previous one and providing each next angle between cutting edges of adjacent teeth of milling cutter less than previous one beginning from first cutting tooth to last cutting tooth; selecting angular velocity values of milling cutter and part according to given relation.
