FIELD: testing engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises setting the piston with the object to be tested in the accelerating device and applying impact loading to the object with the use of compressed gas that is supplied in the above-piston chamber of the device. The gas is compressed by powder burnt out in a special device mounted in the above-piston chamber of the device. The sleeve and pipe of the chamber are perforated, and the number of and the diameter of the openings in the sleeve are chosen so that the ratio of the total area of the openings in the sleeve to the volume of the space between the sleeve and pipe is 20-30 m-1.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy.
