FIELD: musical instruments, in particular, bells for use at churches and cathedrals, and also musical orchestras.
SUBSTANCE: bell has body with side wall of varying thickness, split along perimeter by longitudinal gaps on separate sextants, and a striking tool. Thicknesses of sextants along perimeter of transverse sections of body are formed by inner spirals relatively to outer diameters of bell wall for producing harmonic-toned sounds during ringing, each of which has sound of certain tone and reverberation during impact of striking tool at impact point of each sextant. Striking device with electric and mechanical striker is made rotary relatively to body of bell.
EFFECT: production of harmonic sounds of different tones of reverberation by ringing a single bell, expanded octave frequencies zone of bell acoustic field, possible controlling of ringing via local or remote control panel.
