FIELD: agriculture, in particular, cultivation of early ripening tilled crops.

SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting slits to depth greater than plow layer depth; providing sowing and interrow cultivation procedures; during early spring period, before covering harrowing, cutting slits transverse to field at 1.4 m±0.1 m pitch to depth greater than plow layer depth by 0.12-0.20 m; after covering harrowing procedure, forming southern and northern exposure ridges in spacing between slits, said ridges being of different sizes and being inclined at different angles to horizontal plane; aligning depressions between ridges with slit mouths; before sowing process, removing heat-loving weeds and covering by means of ribbed rollers; sowing seeds on southern exposition ridges to 0.06-0.08 m depth and locally compacting seed furrows; providing interrow cultivation by moving cultivation units over spacings between young growth. Southern exposure ridges are formed with an angle of inclination of 38-45 deg to horizontal plane and northern exposure ridges are formed at an angle of 25-28 deg to horizontal plane. Depth of depressions between ridges is smaller than or equal to seeding depth characteristic of seeds of water melon kinds.

EFFECT: reduced ripening time for commercial fruits and improved nutritive qualities of water melon flesh.
