FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves harvesting precursor and preparing soil in accordance with agricultural procedures aimed at elimination of cold-resistant and warm-loving weeds; combining seeding of sorghum grains at row spacing of 70 cm and band application of herbicides onto cut surface at working pressure of 0.020-0.035 MPa by forming furrows offset with respect to seed bed axis and having inclined and vertical walls; compacting inclined furrow walls faced toward seed bed; applying herbicides on vertical mellow walls; covering furrows with mellow soil to form seed bed. Vertical and inclined walls formed in protective zones are offset with respect to seed bed by distance of 1/4-3/8 of width of protective zone. Seeding unit has tractor, mounted drill and herbicide applying device. Drill has frame, hitch brackets, carrier wheels, markers and seeding sections. Herbicide applying device has herbicide reservoir, drive pump, boom, flexible hoses and sprayers. Each seeding section has device for forming furrows with vertical mellow walls and inclined compacted walls. Furrow forming device has pole with shaft mounted within pole for rotation. Disks with conical flanges on facing disk surfaces are fixed in opposed relation to shaft. Disks are interconnected by shifting mechanisms made in the form of threaded sleeves mounted on threaded part of shaft. Disk is mounted on outer part of threaded sleeve and fixed on it. Conical flanges are detachably mounted on disks. Pole is fixed on seeding section bracket. Furrow forming device is positioned forward of furrow cutter and herbicide sprayers are positioned between disks and furrow cutter.
