SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of ions into working space of analyzer near its radial plane, their sorting out according to specific charges, and their delivery to ion detector input; parameters of high-frequency voltage applied to analyzer electrodes (waveform and/or amplitude, and/or frequency) are chosen so as to ensure that working point on one of coordinate axes of ions being analyzed is deep in stabilization zone and on other axis, near intersection point of mass spectrum line and stability zone boundary corresponding to β0 = +1, where β0 is parameter of stability.
EFFECT: enhanced precision of analyzing ions by specific charges.
