FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed linear induction motor has inductor carrying three-phase winding and secondary member carrying short-circuited winding; secondary-member slots accommodate n insulated conductors disposed one on top of other through slot height hs. Conductors are closed on one end by common bus and on other end, by movable closing member in the form of parallelepiped provided with toothed surface on face opposing core slots. Mechanical drive of movable closing member is made in the form of toothed wheel engaged with toothed surface of movable closing member. The latter is made in the form of two fragments of which first fragment has conducting part whose height equals "hs/n" and insulating part whose height equals "hs - hs/n". Second fragment is made of conducting material of height "hs".
EFFECT: enhanced speed control range of linear induction motor.
