FIELD: mechanical engineering; automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed arm consists of fastening part connected with windshield wiper drive and articulated part with rod. Articulated part is connected with fastening part by cylindrical hinge joint by means of which arm of windshield wiper can be moved off vehicle glass. Windshield wiper blade is hinge-connected to free end of rod. In process of operation of windshield wiper its blade executing swinging motions moves over glass of vehicle being pressed to glass by tension spring which, thanks to said cylindrical hinge joint, tends to press articulated part of arm together with fitted-on blade to vehicle glass. Spring support is made on one of side walls of U-shaped section by deep drawing. According to proposed method of manufacture, first support for spring is made in flat sheet blank, and then sections forming side walls of U-shaped section are bent relative to section forming upper wall of U-shaped section in ready part. According to one version, neck on support for spring is made by upsetting by flattening the support in longitudinal direction, and according to other version, neck is made by flaring or expansion of edges of hole in end face bottom of spring support.
EFFECT: reduced time and cost of manufacture of fastening part.
