FIELD: medicine, oral surgery.
SUBSTANCE: one should conduct spiral computer fibular tomography and that of facial skeleton to detect localization of nutrient foramen of minor fibula, mandibular and submental angles and length of mandibular body along counter-lateral side. One should measure the width of lateral fibular surface being 10-12 mm above nutrient foramen and proximal fibular surface at the level of reproducible distal border of mandibular body. Then one should calculate the width of foundation of dissected wedges by the following formula: a = 2c/tg(α/2), where a - the width of wedge foundation (mm); c - the width of either lateral or proximal fibular surfaces in the site of wedge-like dissection (mm); α - the value of dissected wedge angle being equal to 180° minus that of mandibular angle or submental curvature (degree). The innovation enables to prevent curvature and shortening transplant's vascular pedicle.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
