FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing fixing sutures on internal direct muscle of both eyes to sclera in a zone located outside of eyeball equator. The sutures are placed 11-15 mm far from their physiologic attachment points. The muscles are attached to sclera with two double interrupted blanket sutures of mercilene 5-0. The sutures are placed on 1/3 of muscle width with 1/3 of sclera thickness captured.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in modifying eye-moving muscle biomechanics of horizontal action mode; reduced nystagmus amplitude.
