FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used in treating the patients with vertical nystagmus. For this purpose, the preparation Xeomin in dosage 10-20 Units is introduced in an inferior external sector of the retrobulbar space of both eyes. The preparation is injected with a syringe with a needle of the diametre 27 G and length 25-27 mm. The injection is transpalpebral through the middle of a lateral lower eyelid. The needle is stuck in and moved forward backwards, upwards and inwards.
EFFECT: method allows reducing dynamometric and dynamostatic characteristics of the vertical rectus muscles of eye due to the prolonged disintegration of a pathological hyper-impulse of a central origin combined with reduced manipulation injuries ensured by the specification of a certain stick-in point and needle movement direction.
