METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PROGRESSIVE MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2697240 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For surgical treatment of progressive myopia, layer-by-layer incisions of conjunctive and tenon membrane are made before episclera, formation of pockets between episclerian and tenon membrane under rectus muscles, introduction of transplants with width of 10 mm and length of 20 mm after their preliminary exposure in solution of liquid nitrogen for 10 seconds. In the upper quadrant along the inner border of the superior rectus muscle perpendicular to the limb, a pocket is formed under an upper rectus muscle, a transplant is brought in, centered and uniformly immersed beyond the equator through the upper rectus muscle. Further, pockets under the inner and lower rectus muscles are formed in the inferior inner quadrant along the inner border of the lower rectus muscle. Transplants are brought in turns, aligned and immersed behind the equator across the inner and lower rectus muscles, the incisions of the tenon membrane and the conjunctiva are covered with immersion sutures 8/0.

EFFECT: method enables eliminating the risk of transplant deformation, twisting and displacement on the episcleral surface combined with minimal intraoperative traumatisation of the eye tissues and stabilizing the myopic process.
