FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to noise intake silencers and exhaust mufflers of internal combustion engines. According to invention, thin-walled liable tube in form of polygon made of heat-resistant material is fitted inside thick walled tube-carcass. Intertube space is filled with inert gas whose pressure is less than or, in extreme cases, equal to pressure of working medium. Proposed muffler can be used as noise damper and for damping undesirable oscillations in different spheres of human activities, for instance, in aircraft jet engines, in tools or in impact-action mechanisms, guns, firearms, transport pipelines, etc.
EFFECT: simplified design, reduced materials usage, increased reliability and service life.
