FIELD: radiation monitoring of environment.
SUBSTANCE: inorganic scintillation materials used for recording thermal neutrons are found useful for developing radiation detectors around them Proposed thermal neutron recording scintillator developed around 6LiF-UO2(NO3)2 crystal has in addition Helium isotope 3He, proportion of ingredients being as follows, atom percent: • 6LiF-UO2(NO3)2...99.94 - 99.98; • helium isotope 3He...0.02 - 0.06.
EFFECT: enhanced recording efficiency due to enlarged interaction (capture) sectional area.
