FIELD: robots for removing dust from cleaned surfaces at moving along predetermined path.
SUBSTANCE: robot includes housing of vacuum cleaner having drive unit and suction unit; bumper secured to housing of vacuum cleaner for protecting it against striking with obstacle. Bumper may move between first position where it is spaced from housing of vacuum cleaner by predetermined distance and second position corresponding to collision of robot with obstacle. Vacuum cleaning robot is provided with unit for detecting unexpected obstacles; said unit is turned on and off according to displacement of bumper and it is designed for detecting unexpected obstacle. Vacuum cleaning robot also includes controller for controlling operation of drive unit and suction unit, of unit for detecting unexpected obstacle and for changing motion direction of vacuum cleaner housing if it is necessary to avoid obstacle.
EFFECT: possibilities for shock absorbing at sudden collision with unexpected obstacle, to prevent damage of vacuum cleaning robot and to avoid striking with obstacle.
