FIELD: pump engineering.
SUBSTANCE: screw mechanism comprises rotating screw (1) provided with spiral turns (2) and mounted inside housing (3) having inlet and outlet openings. Inlet chamber (4) and pressure chamber (5) are interposed between the inlet and outlet openings of housing (3). Pressure chamber (5) receives second screw (6) with spiral turns (7) and mounted for permitting rotation in the direction opposite to that of rotation of first screw (1). Screws (1) and (6) mounted inside pressure chamber (5) forcedly displace the fluid due to the contact cooperation between screws (1) and (6). The sections of screws (1) and (6) that are in engagement with each other project outside pressure chamber (5) and are inserted into inlet chamber (4) by the length equal at least one and a half turn.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and prolonged service life.
