AUGER CONVEYOR FOR TRANSPORTATION OF FLUID SUBSTANCES AND/OR LUMP MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B65G33/18 B02C18/30 A22C17/00 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities.

SUBSTANCE: proposed auger conveyor has housing and first and second augers. Housing has intake chamber and pumping chamber arranged between inlet and outlet holes. Augers in pumping chamber provide transfer of material at relative engagement of two augers. Conveyor is furnished also with cutting device installed low than pumping chamber in direction of flow in one housing with knife chamber. According to first design version of auger conveyor, device for accommodating at least part of substance and/or material getting into knife chamber from pumping chamber has channel passing from knife chamber back into receiving chamber. Controlled valve is installed in said channel. According to second design version of auger conveyor, knife chamber contains device for changing volume of inner channel of knife chamber. Said device contains piston moving outwards from channel and inwards into channel by means of drive.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation owing to excluding requirement of stopping of auger rotation when pumping chamber is overfilled.
