FIELD: power switches.
SUBSTANCE: proposed contact region 1 of arc-control chamber symmetrically rotating about center line 2 and filled with insulating medium has at least two fixed arcing contacts 4, 15 made in the form of contact rings which are conducting electricity in closed condition of arc-control chamber through central axially movable shorting-out contact. Butt-end surfaces of arcing contacts facing one another are partially closed by insulating coatings 11, 22. Insulating coatings made for the purpose should be optimally dielectric and simple in wiring. This is attained by providing wedge-shaped annular gap 11a, 22a open in radial direction toward abutting edge 10, 21 of coating 11, 22; edge 10, 21 is shielded by means of circular dielectric fillet 8, 19 protruding beyond surface 7, 18.
EFFECT: enhanced insulating properties of contact region.
