POWER SWITCH Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2189657 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering; switches. SUBSTANCE: power switch has at least one cylindrical arc-control chamber arranged along center line which is filled with insulating medium and provided with power current path as well as two fixed arcing contact systems which are disposed on center line in power current path and axially spaced apart. Arcing contact systems are closed in ON-position of switch and pass current with aid of movable bridging contact. Arc space is provided between fixed arcing-contact systems. Rated-current path incorporating rated-current movable contacts is arranged in parallel with power-current path. Bridging contact is mounted inside arcing-contact system along center line. Due to proposed design of switch desired OFF-operation speed of bridging contact can be attained by means of low-power operating mechanism. EFFECT: reduced mass and enhanced closing speed of bridging contact. 14 cl, 4 dwg
