FIELD: electrical engineering; lead battery manufacture.

SUBSTANCE: novelty is that battery electrode unit has negative electrodes of two electrode plates with separators in-between. Such design ensures excess of active material of negative electrodes compared with active mass of positive electrodes thereby ensuring better penetration of sulfuric acid electrolyte deep into electrode. This provides for more effective use of negative-electrode active material which raises battery capacity and, hence, increases battery life by 1.5 - 1.6 times.

EFFECT: enhanced service life of battery.
