FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering industry and may be used for lead-acid battery production. According to the invention the positive and negative electrodes consist of two electrode plates separated by the additional separator, thereby allowing for sufficient penetration of sulfuric acid electrolyte deep into the electrodes. The ratio of additional separator thickness to the total thickness of double electrode plates is 0.15-0.30. The above value ensures the needed quantity of sulfuric electrolyte, which is stored mainly in separator.
EFFECT: increase of battery capacity as a result of sufficient sulfuric acid electrolyte penetration deep into the electrodes, there by increasing utilisation factor for active material.
