FIELD: metallurgy, namely billet continuous casting machines.
SUBSTANCE: mold of machine for continuous casting of billets includes wide walls forced together through narrow walls arranged between them by means of springs, hydraulic cylinders and braces placed at outer side of one of wide walls. Walls are mounted in rigid outer framework. In openings of one side of rigid outer framework hydraulic cylinders with braces and springs are mounted. Wide wall of mold arranged at opposite side of wide wall forced by means of hydraulic cylinder rests upon other inner side of outer framework. Springs are mounted in cavity of each hydraulic cylinder between rod and housing. There is through axial opening in rod of each hydraulic cylinder; brace is arranged in said opening. Brace is in the form of pressure screw and it is arranged in threaded through axial opening of rod. Units for fixing screws and wide wall are placed in tail portion of several pressure screws. Nut is screwed on rod outside housing of each hydraulic cylinder. Fixing unit may be in the form of C-shaped vertical guide secured to wide wall and supporting stop for tail portion of pressure screw.
EFFECT: enhanced operational characteristics of mold, simplified condition for maintaining it in machines for continuous casting of blooms.
