FIELD: processes and equipment for contact welding of continuous hollow blanks. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding flat blanks to shaping apparatus and compressing them between walls and central rod of apparatus; passing welding electric current pulse and applying increasing forging effort for swaging blank at predetermined swaging degree; forming welded seams at both sides relative to central rod; then sizing surfaces of hollow blank and knocking it out of shaping apparatus. Machine for performing the method includes in addition electrodes arranged on surface of working walls; system for automatic control of hydraulic cylinder operation; and frame with two stationary struts rigidly secured to it. Two movable struts are jointly mounted on frame; said struts are mutually joined by means of tie rod provided with adjustable spring. Two working walls having inclined upper portions are arranged on each movable strut. In upper portion of each stationary strut clamping hydraulic cylinder is mounted. Said cylinder has rod for driving movable strut. Over each vertical working wall hydraulic cylinder with rod for driving wall is rigidly mounted. System provides possibility for automatic control of operation of hydraulic cylinders. EFFECT: significantly improved efficiency of contact welding process of continuous hollow blanks. 5 cl, 2 dwg
