FIELD: antenna engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed feed of parabolic antenna is designed for use in communication and television reception systems of ground and satellite radio lines. Metal ring of radius equal to 0.4λmax < R < 0.5λmax and width b = 0.1λmax is installed between orthogonal dipoles and cross-like subdish at distance h from the latter on cylindrical rod and disposed on top of radio-transparent shielding casing. Distance h is varied within the range of 0.35λmax < h < 0.55λmax when tuning antenna to gain maximum depending on geometrical dimensions of mirror.
EFFECT: ability of adapting to various mirrors and controlling directivity pattern; enhanced gain of antenna due to more comprehensive use of mirror.
