FIELD: machine engineering, processes for making cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of fusion welding of tip and holder and quenching tip. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities of cutter, cutting tip is welded to holder after quenching of tip. Welding modes are set in such a way that to provide in near seam-space thermal influence zone not exceeding, mainly thickness half of cutting tip. Welding modes may be set in such a way that to prevent heating of tip outside said thermal influence zone higher than temperature of red hardness of cutting tip material.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of cutting tool.
