FIELD: mechanical engineering; riveted joints.
SUBSTANCE: proposed rivet has shank with conical cavity and end face and primary head with blind cylindrical axial with 45° chamfer on edge. Conical cavity is made with angle of 75°, diameter d2 equal to 0.6-0.75 of diameter d of rivet shank. Blind cylindrical axial hole on primary head of rivet is made with diameter d1 equal to 0.5 of diameter d of rivet shaft. Depth l of said hole is found from equation l=h/k where h is size from end face of primary head to line of butt joining of riveted parts, k is correction coefficient equal to 0.65-1.0.
EFFECT: provision of additional strengthening of head and shank of rivet in process of its upsetting and riveting, reduced forces on primary head, provision of reliable fixing of rivet on tool at peening down.
