FIELD: radio measurement technology; miscellaneous radio devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed attenuator affording fixed or adjustable attenuation of electromagnetic oscillations has rectangular case, variable-length coaxial line section with external conductor of inner diameter corresponding to diameter of round below-cutoff waveguide for maximal operating frequency band built of separable parts. Central conductors of coaxial line section separable parts are tightly joined in original position over conical surface. Resistors are disposed in immediate proximity of butt-ends on separable parts of attenuator central conductor. Installed at attenuator input is rectangular coaxial strip section in the form of coaxial strip-line section with rectangular conductor provided with adjusting screws perpendicular to central strip and adjustable with respect to insertion depth. Central strip disposed opposite adjusting screws is coated with insulating layer that prevents contact between adjusting screws and central strip. Calibrated scale provided on external surface of attenuator separable part is used to indicate amount of break in central conductor.
EFFECT: improved attenuator matching in desired band of broad radio-frequency range.
