FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes low-alloy steel with enhanced strength comprising the following ratio of components, wt.-%: carbon, 0.17-0.24; manganese, 0.35-0.65; silicon, 0.17-0.37; niobium, 0.05-0.08; chrome, 0.20-0.50; nickel, 0.20-0.50, and iron, the balance in the following ratio: {[manganese] + 0.3 x [chrome] + 0.5 x [nickel] + 0.7 [copper]}/[niobium] = 10-20. Invention provides improving impact viscosity indices in combination with enhancing strengthening properties of metal-rolling productions in hot and thermally treated state, enhancing structural strength and exploitation indices of electric arc welded straight-seamed oil and gas pipelines. The proposed composition of steel can be used in making electric arc welded straight-seamed pipelines of large diameter with the prolonged exploitation work life.
EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of steel.
