FIELD: chemistry of polymers.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water-soluble homo- and copolymers wherein EbC50 represents index not exceeding 10 mg/l based on data in toxicity study in alga, Scenedesmus subspicatus. Water-soluble particles comprise at least one polymerized derivative of (meth)acrylic acid or poloymerized (meth)acrylic acid wherein EbC50 represents index exceeding 10 mg/l based on data in toxicity study in alga, Scenedesmus subpicatus. Method for preparing such particles involves polymerization of monomers in solution followed by thermal treatment of prepared particles and addition of at least one ammonium salt and one water-soluble amine to polymer particles before thermal treatment. Prepared particles are used as flocculants, thickening agents, as a component in plant protecting agent, as component of an anti-erosion agent, as component of a water-base drilling washing out solution. Invention provides preparing polymers possessing the enhanced ecological safety and retention of equal properties of these polymers.
