FIELD: chemical industry; metallurgic industry; ecology; geology, medicine; criminalistics.
SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used for determination of metal, metal-containing and non-metal articles disperse particles, powders. According to the method, solid electrolyte (gel-electrolyte) is used as background electrolyte at contact with object. The electrolyte is electrically stable inside operation range of potentials. Ion-conducting polymer can be used as the electrolyte which can be used as sample-selecting element (sensor). The contact is performed by pressing solid electrolyte against surface of object and by carrying hetero-phase sorption. Sample in solid or liquid phase can be also introduced into solid electrolyte or matter to be subject to analysis is precipitated in form of dust, gas or vapor onto surface of electrolyte. Device for realization of the method has case in form of rod made of dielectric material onto/into which case the electrodes (working, comparing and polarizing ones) are fixed. Electrodes are electrically connected with voltage source. Device also has some volume of solid electrolyte. Free ends of comparing electrode and/or polarizing electrode are brought into electrical contact with ion-conducting polymer. Free end of working electrode can contact either with ion-conducting polymer or directly with object to be analyzed. Leakage of electrolyte is excluded. Electrolyte can be used not only main electrolyte but sample-selecting element.
