FIELD: electronic devices and their impregnated cathodes.
SUBSTANCE: impregnated cathode manufacturing process includes mixing of powder W with rhenium acid (HreO4) to paste condition, coating of cathode base of Mo, W, or their alloys with Re having clean and roughened surface with this paste, and sintering at temperature of 1800 ±50 °C for 3 - 5 minutes followed by impregnation with thermally emissive active material and smoothing by dry polishing. Cathode work function is maximum 2 eV and mechanical endurance at 2250 °C is over 11 000 h.
EFFECT: facilitated manufacture of cathodes of all sizes and shapes.
