FIELD: obtaining pure compounds of zirconium and hafnium by extraction method.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method makes it possible of obtaining products per cycle at high content of target components. Extraction of zirconium and hafnium is performed by 70-% solution of tributyl phosphate in organic solvent. Then, re-extraction of hafnium is performed by means of nitric acid solution at concentration of 180-220 g/l at organic-to-aqueous phase ratio equal to 5-7 :1. Re-extraction is conducted with nitric acid at concentration of 10-15 g/l. Zirconium is finally extracted from hafnium re-extract with 70-% solution of tributyl phosphate in organic thinner at organic-to-aqueous phase ratio equal to 1 : 1-2. Process is carried out in cascade of high-capacity centrifugal extractors.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
