FIELD: draining the sub-base of roads or ballastway of railways by trenches, culverts, or conduits.
SUBSTANCE: culvert structure comprises foundation, side walls, bottom part, spanning arches and ground filling material. Each side wall is made as a single whole with foundation and is formed as reinforced concrete unit having orifices in bottom part thereof. The orifices are symmetric about central foundation part and are filled with crushed stone or ground filling material when bottom foundation part is located under ground filling material. Reinforced concrete units and spanning arches are pulled together by prestressed reinforcement rods extending along the structure.
EFFECT: simplified structure, increased operational reliability due to increased structural strength.
