FIELD: wind power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wind turbines using, owing to long vertical axis, high air columns for converting energy of air flow into mechanical energy. Proposed wind turbine contains wind collecting base with lower and upper surface, setting section on which section of lower surface is larger than that of upper one, and upper surface contains energy transmitting member, wind collecting base is made in form of upward converging base with angle of tilting. Turbine is provided with shaft with upper and lower ends rotating around vertical axis, device employing the energy, upper and lower plates, great number of vertically orientated members creating torque and flat wind directing members, open cover, and upper screen. Turbine members are made of light materials, namely, multilayer cellular panels of aramide fiber. Second design version of wind turbine is also provided.
EFFECT: increased index of conversion of kinetic energy of wind into mechanical energy, provision of nonexpansive alternative energy source at any wind, from gentle breeze to strong gale.
