FIELD: mechanical engineering; shoe-drum brakes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed shoe-drum brake has brake clearance regulating mechanism, brake base and brake drum and shoe mechanisms of joint action with many degrees of freedom. Each joint-action shoe mechanism with many degree of freedom consists of two combined shoes with many degrees of freedom. Brake shoes of these combined shoes having many degrees of freedom are interconnected by means of joint-action mechanism of brake shoes. Each combined shoe with many degrees of freedom consists mainly of drive arm, brake shoe, connecting stud and bearing stud. Brake shoe of each combined shoe having many degree of freedom is articulated by means of connecting stud with drive arm. Combined shoe with many degrees of freedom is mounted on brake base by means of bearing stud articulated with drive arm. Brake clearance control mechanism is mounted on brake base and operates together with joint action shoe mechanism having many degrees of freedom. Brake drum is fitted beyond joint action shoe mechanism having many degrees of freedom, thus forming friction pair together with it.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of braking; smooth distribution of pressure in friction pair.
