FIELD: radiometry of liquid, gaseous and solid media; dose metering of ionizing radiation.
SUBSTANCE: scintillator can be used in disperse thin-film scintillation beta- and photon radiation detectors. Scintillator is made in form of film which has base made of polycarbonate. Base if filled with luminophor. Powder-shaped crystal filling agent is used as luminophor. Filling agent has to be ortho-silicate-germanate of yttrium, gadolinium and cerium; stoichiometric formula of composition is Y2-x-y-zGdxLuyCezO3(SiO2)1-p(GeO2)p. Intervals of stoichiometric indexes are x=0,01-1, y=0,01-0,9 , z=0,005-0,05, and p=0-0,8. Optical radiation wavelength maximum belongs to range of 420-445 nanoseconds and duration of scintillations is 30-40 nanoseconds. Speed of operation of thin-film disperse scintillator is increased due to reduction in duration of scintillations to 30-40 nanoseconds and relative light output is increased till 0,7 (relatively Na1 (T1)). Temperature resistance is increased till +120°C.
EFFECT: higher degree of inspection of high-temperature media (water, vapor, gas).
